1) AkelPad: it is web page editing software that is small, expandable text editor that was written for the Windows operating systems. It can also be ran under Wine, a software that allows Windows applications to be ran on Unix-like systems. AkelPad is a program that can replace Notepad and has many features Notepad doesn't. For example: SDI, MDI, PMDI modes; Drag-and-Drop; Split window; handling of DOS/Windows, Mac, Unix end line markers etc. 2) Crimson web page editing software is an open source text editor. It is typically used as an HTML editor and a source code editor for Microsoft Windows. It was created by Ingyu Kang. The last formal release was in the fall of 2004. On the 30th of December, 2006, Kang announced Crimson Editor as an open source project. It is now maintained and modified by the members of the Emerald Editor community. The editor features Windows Shell Intergration, syntax highlighting, multiple undo/redo, direct edit of text files in FTP and integration with compilers. 3) Emacs: is a class of feature rich text editors, usually characterized by their extensibility. Its creators started the project in 1970 and continue working on it actively as of 2010. 1) ActiveState Komodo:is an IDE for dynamic programming languages built on the Mozilla platform. It is a free Web Page Editing Software and it was introduced at the beginning of 2007, in January. It was developed for programmers who need a multi-language editor with broad functionality, but did not need the various features of an IDE, such as debugging. In late 2007, ActiveState announced that Komodo Edit would be developed as a freeware software project. 2) Arachnophilia is a popular source code editor written in Java by Paul Lutus. At first, this piece of web page editing software was created to run on Windows application, but Lutus re-wrote it for Java as part of his boycott against Microsoft.
